Let’s learn how to log into your Linux VPS or Dedicated Server using Putty.

Log into your Linux VPS or Dedicated using Putty

STEP 1: To log into your Linux VPS or Dedicated Server using Putty, you’ll need to download & install Putty on your local computer. Download Putty.

STEP 2: Install Putty on your local computer. Open Putty interface from Start Menu.

STEP 3: Enter the IP Address of your Linux on the Hostname field. Leave the port 22 or change it if you’ve configured a custom port. Then click on ‘Open’ button at the bottom of the Putty interface.

STEP 4: You’ll get a warning message as you’re connecting to your VPS using Putty for the first time. Simple click on ‘Yes‘ button.

STEP 5: Enter ‘root‘ at ‘Login as‘ field. You’ll be asked to enter your Password then. Enter the password you’ve set for SSH Login and hit ‘Enter‘ on your keyboard.
